Will Dell's Alienware Machines Feature Ubuntu?

I’m so pleased that Dell has announced a partnership with Canonical to ship select Dell desktops and laptops with Ubuntu pre-installed. If they choose to do so on their uber-cool Alienware machines, I might have to buy one. I usually buy Apple computers because of their user-friendly interface combined with the expert-supporting command line interface to a BSD-based core. However, ever since the iPod, Apple has been decreasing their attention to their core computer focus, especially when it comes to business and technical applications, and shifting it to consumer entertainment. While this is likely a smart business move for them, it leaves people like me high and dry. :-(

UPDATE: Engadget is reporting that Dell’s will ship with Ubuntu as early as this Thursday (May 24, 2007)!
