Tufts

As a graduate from Tufts, I get regular solicitations from their fund-raising committee. Every time I explain to them that I am an entrepreneur and put nearly all my excess capital into my business. I further explain that I have no extra resources to donate to them, but in the future, if my company grows from the work I'm putting into it, I'd be happy to donate then.

Tonight I learned that Tufts lost $20 million due to investing with J. Ezra Merkin, who in turn fed the money to Bernard Madoff. We all know what Bernard Madoff was doing with the money - stealing it.

I guess I'm feeling a sense of relief and personal gratitude that I haven't caved the Tufts repeated requests for donations. If they aren't going to invest the funds responsibly, I'm not going to give them any.
